In 1955 a group of neighborhood men got together with the idea of forming a Krewe for fun at Mardi Gras. The group rapidly grew to 75 and a ball was held the last Saturday before lent at the Yacht Club until 1963. Chairs were not provided except for the ladies, as the men were expected to keep the Ladies dancing. the Krewe continued to grow in numbers and the Yacht Club was too small so the ball was moved to Martines Restaurant as breakfast following the ball was available.
