Song for the Last Queen曾於2014年獲Aesthetica Art Prize。

| About the Exhibition |
In an anthropocentric world the voice of nature has been turned down and an embodied silent conversation with the natural surrounding has been sacrificed in favor of industrial growth and acceleration.
With Mute Dialogues German artist Sybille Neumeyer pays attention to an intimate relationship between human and nature. During her research on the island and other places in the world, she has been collecting natural specimen and scrutinized their apparently ordinary appearance within the setting of global ecological issues. By de-contextualizing and translating them into a new medial environment, she reveals the pureness and originality of these matters and an interplay between them. The extracted natural alchemy of soil, water and wind conveys narratives of transformation, existence, persistence as likewise impermanence.
The linear accumulation of time seems to be dissolved and rises a poetic dialogue between man-made and nature that becomes an infinite process just as the cycle of the matter in the eco-system.
| About the Artist |
Sybille Neumeyer (b.1982) is a German artist working with phenomena and structures of nature, science and culture, which she translates into installations, moving images and stills, drawings, paper works and other media. Through her work she aims to create a dialogue between the viewer’s personal knowledge, memory and bodily experience. Hereby she fathoms spatial and temporal relations as well the aesthetic interspaces between different media, at times even challenging the spectators limits of perception. Following her artistic need to react on ecological or political questions the artist searches for small traces or peripheral peculiarities that -on a closer examination- unveil a poetic moment, which might create a different awareness of the topic.
Sybille Neumeyer is based in Berlin currently, shows her works on national and international solo and group shows. She first came to Taiwan in 2014 for residency in THAV. Her work "Song For the Last Queen" was awarded the international Aesthetica Art Prize in 2014.
