Stand-up poet Dan Simpson writes and performs in Artificial Ineloquence: a show about the screens and machines that rule over our lives. As the robots rise and deep learning A.I.s threaten to take over the world, can humanity survive? Dynamic spoken word, computerised comedy, and emoji poetry all feature in this new hour from BBC and Glastonbury word-slinger Dan Simpson.
Dan Simpson: Artificial Ineloquence is full of clever wordplay and smart jokes about the way the technology on our desks and in our pockets dominates our lives. The audience are encouraged to leave their phones on – and will even be part of a mass-selfie poem, published after each show! Featuring pieces on clickbait headlines, having the smartphone blues, and that never-ending pile of falsely polite emails, Artificial Ineloquence uses music, props, and projection to create a modern multimedia take on the spoken word show.
Following on from 2015 Fringe show Nerdsmith, 2014’s Fringe sell-out show Applied Mathematics, and Pac-Man inspired show We Are All Orange Ghosts in 2013, Dan Simpson is back with his distinctive form of spoken word to entertain the Fringe’s audiences in Dan Simpson: Artificial Ineloquence.
