The Federation will always need skilled captains to command its fleet of starships and, with the other great galactic powers always ready for war, at least part of that skill must be measured by their ability in combat.
To that end, a program has been created to simulate large scale fleet actions where experienced, battle tested captains sit in as first officer for newly promoted captains to take them through their paces.
Players pair up and construct a fleet consisting of exactly 3 ships, 120 Fleet points, Fleet Pure builds (ALL ships and upgrades in a fleet must be of the same faction). They will share control of these ships throughout the tournament.
Standard rules will be the Objectives Scenario with a slight change: since this is a battle simulation, casualties are not permanent. Any ship that is destroyed may rearm and redeploy at during the next Planning Phase anywhere within range 1 of any table side except your opponents' deployment zone.
Control of the Fleet will begin in the hands of the experienced Captain. On the first turn, they will plan and manage all ships. On subsequent turns, they will turn over command of 1 ship in the fleet to their partner per turn, until all ships are being flown by the new captain.
Rounds will be 50 minutes. Winner is determined by fleet points.
If, at the end phase of any team's turn, that team has the ONLY ships on the board, they score an additional 10 fleet points.
When time is called in the round, the team who earned the highest number of fleet points wins.
