About the Event
This event is a great opportunity for families and businesses from the greater Rouse Hill Kellyville area to come together and enjoy some fun and friendly competition.
The Rouse Hill Billy Cart Derby is hosted by Rouse Hill Community Baptist Church and Men In Action’s Bring A Mate project, and is run by local community groups and churches.
As a Not for Profit event we are sponsored by generous local businesses, and all profits as invested back into local community building initiatives like the Bring A Mate project.
What’s Happening?
The Billy Cart Derby
Families are encouraged to spend time together building & or racing push Billy Carts (see guidelines on basic design) in teams along the Billy Cart track (Main Street, Rouse Hill Town Centre) If you can’t make your own cart, there will be carts to borrow on the day of the event too. Remember to check the clothing/safety guidelines to ensure you have what you need to race in though on the day. You can also enter the optional prize category (e.g. fancy dress) to win further prizes.
Family Festival
Within the event area there will be lots of stalls, entertainment and activities, like jumping castles, face painting and lots more. So even if you’re not racing there will be lots to do and see. To register for the race simply complete the entry information below, download your terms and conditions and start building your cart!
Billy Cart Kits
This year we’re not selling Billy Cart Kits, however you can download instructions for making your own cart from the downloads section of our website. Make sure you also download the guidelines to ensure your cart will comply with the rules of the event. Some teams have carts that they are making small modifications to comply; if you’re unsure of what changes might be needed, contact us via email and we can work that out with you.
What if I don’t have a Billy Cart?
We know not everyone has the time and money to make their own cart, so this year our event sponsors have kindly provided for over a dozen carts made by local Men’s Sheds (Riverstone & Dural) ready for teams to use on the day of the event. All you need to do is register your team online and we’ll put you in one of our carts on the day – how cool is that!! Just make sure you check the guidelines to ensure you bring the right clothing and safety gear with you (e.g. bike helmets).
